佛現寺

A historic Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temple sustained through 14 generations. Founded around 1600 at Jujo Aburanokoji, it relocated and was rebuilt at Rokkaku Aburanokoji after damage from the 1868 Battle of Toba–Fushimi. It has served as a recurring venue for co-working study sessions and year-end gatherings.

A temple in Hokicho, Fushimi Ward, five minutes on foot from Keihan Fushimi-momoyama Station. It became a new venue provider in May 2026.

A renovated vacant house eight minutes on foot from Maebashi Station, designed around the coexistence of nostalgia and new connections. It hosted a traveling co-working study session and social gathering in Gunma.

More than 30 co-working and year-end sessions have connected the temple’s cultural setting with local engineers and international digital nomads. Participants have repeatedly said, “The quality of concentration is different from other co-working study sessions” and “This is an experience that makes me glad to live in Kyoto.” Joint sessions with Digital Nomad Kyoto have also brought more visitors from overseas.

Accumulated value: a learning setting for IT practitioners and new relationships for a temple beyond its traditional local community.

KOIN hosted eight recurring IT Engineer Networking Events in Kyoto, including legal seminars on IT contracts and intellectual property and industry–academia sessions.
