What Miyako de IT is

Miyako de IT began in Kyoto in February 2019 as a community for IT engineers and people learning technology.
It continues to hold mokumoku-kai co-working study sessions, technical study groups, lightning talks, hands-on workshops, and networking events for people who want to learn, build, or meet other practitioners in Kyoto.
Themes include web application development, AI, Web3, blockchain, mobile apps, developer tools, careers, and the relationship between technology and local communities.

Learn in temples, machiya, and other Kyoto settings
Venue is part of the event design. In addition to ordinary meeting rooms, Miyako de IT uses temples, machiya townhouses, university spaces, civic buildings, and local businesses.
Writing code in a quiet temple hall, speaking with engineers in a machiya, or discussing technology with local practitioners creates a different kind of learning environment.

A Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temple at Rokkaku Aburanokoji and a recurring venue for co-working sessions and year-end gatherings.

A temple in Fushimi Momoyama that joined the venue network in May 2026 and extended activity into Fushimi.
