Working independently in a temple hall
A mokumoku meetup is a self-directed working session. Participants bring a laptop, a book, or another project and work at their own pace. At this session, tables were arranged inside Butsugenji's main hall, allowing focused work and informal conversation to take place in the same room.

A shared workspace spanning middle school to the 50s
About 10 people joined this session, with an age range extending from a middle school student to participants in their 50s. People of different ages and experience levels worked on their own themes in the same hall. Participation was not limited to a particular technology field or level of professional experience.

Continuing Kyoto mokumoku meetups at Butsugenji
Butsugenji is a Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temple in the Rokkaku Aburanokoji area of central Kyoto. Miyako de IT has continued holding events at the temple since 2024, creating a place where people can work on and learn about technology inside a traditional Kyoto venue.

On May 23, 2026, Miyako de IT and Digital Nomad Kyoto held Mokumoku Session #57 at Daikoji in Fushimi Ward. Engineers, creators, and digital nomads combined focused work and informal exchange inside a temple founded in 1260.
