In April 2023, at HACK+2023, a Symbol blockchain hackathon organized by NEMTUS, the NEM Technology Promotion Association, an NPO corporation, the blood-donation support DApp Cycle won the Grand Prize. The team was formed by members who met through Miyako de IT in 2019.
Project overview: a blood-donation support DApp
The problem
Japan's blood-donation rate has been declining year by year, and the decline in donations among younger people has become a particularly serious social issue.
The solution
The team developed a DApp, or decentralized application, that uses the Symbol blockchain to provide incentives for donating blood.
