Hashed and Protocol Camp
The session concerned Protocol Camp, a blockchain bootcamp in which Korean Web3 company Hashed participates as a sponsor. Speaker Yuka Ishida attended the program and was part of the team that won its hackathon.
She explained the camp, selection process, program, project, people she met, and lessons she took away. The presentation described who attended, what the environment was like, and how it felt to work inside an international Web3 community.
The most notable element was the program's practicality. Participants did not only study technology: within limited time, they formed teams, identified a problem, and built a blockchain-based product.
Winning the hackathon through teamwork

Connecting Kyoto with international Web3
Miyako de IT is a Kyoto IT engineering community that regularly holds mokumoku sessions, study groups, lightning talks, and networking for people interested in Web3, blockchain, AI, and application development. It has worked particularly in blockchain since September 2022.
The objective is not only to create a place to learn technology. Miyako de IT aims to connect engineers, students, founders, business developers, companies, public bodies, and universities and turn learning into implementation and co-creation. Kyoto's concentration of universities, traditional industries, government, startups, creators, and engineers creates a distinctive base for connecting technologies such as Web3 and AI with regional projects and businesses.
This event brought experience from an overseas Web3 bootcamp back into the Kyoto community. Participants gained a concrete picture of a practical program such as Protocol Camp and saw how somebody based in Kyoto or Kansai could connect with Korean and Asian Web3 ecosystems.
