Challenge before the collaboration
The university has officially announced that its Faculty of Information Science opens in April 2026 (Taisho University announcement, 30 August 2025). Around that period, the challenge was how to design meaningful connections between the university and the local technology community. We have not confirmed any causal link between the new faculty and this collaboration.
What primary records confirm
Miyako de IT regularly holds co-working sessions, generative-AI study groups, and themed events at Taisho University Kyoto Academia. What we can confirm covers venue provision and event co-hosting. Educational collaboration tied to coursework or credits, and anything amounting to joint research, are not confirmed for this case study. That means we have not confirmed them, not that they do not exist.
What we did
- 1Regularly changed themes across co-working study sessions, generative AI study groups, and craft-beer events
- 2Designed events where students and professional engineers could sit at the same table
- 3Opened university facilities as one of Kyoto’s technology-community bases
- 4Maintained promotion routes open to participants outside the university
